Propagating Perennials with Joan Butler

Joan will teach us various propagation techniques, including growing from seeds, taking cuttings, and dividing plants in lecture and demonstration formats.

Soil Improvement with Sam Billings

Sam Billings is the Fine Gardening Division Manager at MainStay Landscape.  With an undergraduate degree in soil science and prior tenure as an organic farmer, Sam has built up his soil knowledge over the past 15 years. In this interactive discussion, Sam intends to help attendees better understand how to care for the earth beneath their feet and in their gardens. Bringing soil testing results for interpretation is encouraged.

All About Rhododendrons with Joe Bruso

Local hybridizer, propagator, and grower Joe Bruso will describe the characteristics of the genus and survey the main types of rhododendrons and azaleas, illustrate a variety of both species and hybrids which do well in our area, introduce you to other attractive features of rhododendrons, such as foliage and new growth, provide an overview of planting and care, and address a few potential problems.

Views of Boulderwoods Display Garden are provided.
